Former Councilor and incumbent Vice Mayor Luisito "Chito" Caraang was shot dead by still unknown gunmen last October 9, 2010 at Barangay San Casimiro, Licab, Nueva Ecija.
Initial police investigation reports that Caraang was jogging in San Casimiro at around 5 in the morning when motorcycle gunmen shot him from behind. Reports also say that Caraang was rushed but eventually died at a nearby hospital in Cabanatuan City.
